On the southern end of the Upper West Side, Lincoln Square sits between Central Park a few blocks to the east and the Hudson River to the west. That geography alone makes it one of the easier Manhattan neighborhoods to push a stroller around. The 1 train stops at 66th Street, so you can get here without a car, and the wide sidewalks along Broadway and Columbus handle a double stroller without drama. For outdoor time, Central Park's playgrounds are a short walk from almost any block in the neighborhood, and Riverside Park South hugs the western edge with open green space and river views. The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, right on the Lincoln Center campus at 65th Street, is worth knowing about for rainy days and story-time programming. Lincoln Center's plaza is surprisingly good toddler territory on weekends, with wide open paved space, a fountain, and occasional free family programming. Robofun, the STEAM studio on West End Avenue, runs classes for the pre-K set if you want something structured indoors. The neighborhood skews toward professionals and older residents, so it's quieter than the West 80s, but plenty of kids are out on weekend mornings.
