Kids' Events in Longwood

About kids' events in Longwood

A densely residential South Bronx neighborhood, Longwood draws a lot of families with young kids, so you won't feel out of place with a stroller on the sidewalk. The 2, 5, and 6 trains run nearby along Southern Boulevard and Westchester Avenue, making it easy to get into the rest of the city without a car. Bill Rainey Park is the main local anchor, with multi-purpose fields and a playground. Playground 52 on Kelly Street adds a solid outdoor option with a spray area and open space where a toddler can roam. A few smaller playgrounds are scattered across the grid as well. For free indoor programming, the New York Public Library at Hunts Point is one of the best nearby resources for this age group. It runs toddler storytimes, bilingual English and Spanish sessions, and drop-in programs for little ones. NYC Parks also brings events to the area, so the calendar here mixes indoor and outdoor options throughout the year. The neighborhood skews young with a large share of residents under 15, meaning the crowd at any given weekend program tends to look a lot like yours.
