Kids' Events in Woodside

About kids' events in Woodside

A low-key Queens neighborhood that genuinely has a lot of kids in it, Woodside sits along the 7 train, putting Midtown Manhattan about 15 minutes away at rush hour. That makes it easy to get here from elsewhere in the city, and the residential blocks, lined with two-family brick homes and pre-war co-ops, are quiet enough that pushing a stroller around on a weekday morning feels fine. Windmuller Park is the neighborhood's main outdoor spot, with a band shell, playground equipment, and an outdoor pool that runs in summer. Big Bush Park, a short walk away, has a splash and spray area that toddlers love when it gets hot. Queens Public Library's Woodside branch on Skillman Avenue runs storytimes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and is an easy, free option on a rainy afternoon. There are 32 upcoming events on the calendar right now. Queens Music Academy and Queens Public Library are among the providers running programs here, so the mix skews toward music, movement, and early literacy, which tends to suit the one-to-four crowd well.
