About kids' events in Eltingville
A quiet, residential corner of Staten Island's South Shore, Eltingville is the kind of place where families put down roots and stay. Streets are calm, lots are wide, and weekend mornings move slowly, which is a genuine relief when you're hauling a toddler anywhere. Most people drive here, but the Staten Island Railway runs through the neighborhood and connects to the ferry if you need it. For outdoor time, Martinson Playground next to PS 55 has two distinct play levels, one sized specifically for toddlers, plus a water spray feature and year-round bathrooms. When you want something more nature-walk than monkey bars, Blue Heron Park Preserve in nearby Annadale adds over 200 acres of trails, ponds, and wetlands, easy enough terrain for little legs and genuinely good for spotting wildlife. The Great Kills branch of the New York Public Library, right next door, runs regular programs for infants and toddlers and is a solid rainy-day default. Music With Patrick brings music sessions into the area, so structured class options exist without a long drive. Thirteen events are currently on the calendar here for the under-four set.
