Kids' Events in Murray Hill

About kids' events in Murray Hill

A quiet, genuinely residential part of Midtown East: tree-lined side streets of brownstones sit just a block or two from the avenues, and on weekday mornings the sidewalks feel more neighborhood than Manhattan. St. Vartan Park is the anchor for families here, a nearly three-acre green space near First Avenue with shade trees, playground equipment, and a field house with restrooms. It is one of the few spots in this part of the city where you can actually spread out. Green space overall is tight in this zip code, so that park gets real use. For indoor programming, the New York Public Library's Kips Bay branch on Third Avenue is a short walk from most of the neighborhood, and the Murray Hill Wee Ones Club runs regular sessions aimed specifically at the under-five crowd. The 6 train runs along Lexington and the 4 and 5 are close too, so getting around with a stroller by subway is genuinely easy. Weekend mornings feel calmer than the weekday commuter version of the neighborhood, which makes it a decent time to explore with a toddler in tow.
