About kids' events in Norwalk
In Norwalk, getting out with a toddler usually means a short drive to a town park with a playground or a Sound-side nature center. The local library branch runs most of the free weekly programming, and it is the main anchor for what we list here. Right now our calendar shows 62 upcoming events, mostly storytimes, art classes, and science sessions for little ones, all held at Norwalk Public Library. A few music classes pop up too, like a ballet storytime with Tutu School Westport for ages 4 to 8. If you live nearby, walking to the library is easy, but otherwise you will drive. Most Connecticut families move between towns by car, and parking at libraries and parks is rarely a problem. Metro-North’s New Haven line does stop in Norwalk and connects to Grand Central, but hauling a stroller on the train for a morning class usually is not worth it. Stick to the local parks, the library, and the Sound-side centers, and you will find plenty to fill a weekday morning without much planning.
