About kids' events in Soundview
A working-class Bronx neighborhood built around one of the borough's biggest parks, Soundview is the kind of place where kids grow up outside. Soundview Park spans 205 acres right at the edge of the neighborhood, with playgrounds, wide-open ballfields, waterfront paths along the Bronx River, and enough space to let a toddler run without doubling back every thirty seconds. The terrain is flat throughout, which makes pushing a stroller down Soundview Avenue or over to the park genuinely easy. The NYPL Soundview branch on Soundview Avenue is a small, ground-level building with a dedicated children's section and a toddler program that runs regularly. There are no dedicated toddler studios based here, so the programming you'll find in this list comes from NYC Parks and the library, plus events that Mommy Poppins brings into the area. Most families get around by bus, with several BX lines running through the neighborhood, and the 6 train is accessible at Morrison Avenue. On weekends the park fills up with families from the surrounding apartment buildings, and the whole area has a low-key, neighborhood-block-party energy.
