Kids' Events in Crown Heights

About kids' events in Crown Heights

A residential Brooklyn neighborhood with tree-lined blocks and a genuinely local feel, Crown Heights is one of the better spots in the borough to have a small kid in tow. Brower Park sits near the center of the neighborhood: a seven-acre green space with a playground and spray showers that works well on a warm afternoon when you just need somewhere to let a toddler run. Across the street, the Brooklyn Children's Museum is the main anchor for this age group, with a dedicated toddler area built for kids under six and free admission on Thursday afternoons. The Brooklyn Public Library's Brower Park branch is close by, and the main avenues have enough cafes and Caribbean spots to make a whole morning out of it. Getting around is manageable. The 3 and 4 trains run along Eastern Parkway, so you can arrive without a car. The blocks between the park, the museum, and the library are flat and calm on a weekday morning, which makes pushing a stroller easier than in busier parts of Brooklyn. The 97 events on this calendar draw from a good mix of local and citywide programs, including sessions from the Brooklyn Children's Museum itself.
