About kids' events in Tappan
Tappan sits in Rockland County, west of the Hudson, with a small downtown area where you can park and walk. Driving is the main way around, and you’ll cross the Mario Cuomo Bridge if you head into Westchester. On a weekday morning, the local library branch is the anchor for toddler life here. Our calendar shows 28 upcoming events in Tappan, and nearly all of them happen at the Tappan Library: storytimes make up the bulk, with a few art classes, a couple of theater sessions, one music class, one cooking activity, and a playspace drop-in. Even the older-kid “Pokemon Club” is listed. Outside the library, you can find a couple of playgrounds within a short walk, plus open green space where a small kid can run off energy before nap. There are no active studios filed in Tappan right now, so for paid classes you might drive to a neighboring village. But for free, low-commitment outings, the library’s schedule is your real resource, and it clearly carries most of the toddler programming in town.
