About kids' events in Greenwich
Getting out with a small kid in Greenwich means staying close to the library system. Almost everything on the calendar here runs through Greenwich Library and its Byram Shubert branch, and it is heavy on storytime, with 29 sessions listed. Movement and art classes each show up around a dozen times, plus a few music, theater, science, and cooking events. Expect titles like "All Together Storytime" for the younger set and book clubs for older siblings, though much of what is listed skews toward the toddler years. The town is spread out, but the library branches sit near residential areas, so you can often walk from home or park easily. Driving between neighborhoods is the norm, and Metro-North runs through downtown if you want to head into the city, but you will not rely on it for daily errands. Parks and playgrounds are scattered through the Sound-side neighborhoods, and the town's recreation department and nature centers handle a lot of the free stuff, so check their boards too. For now, the library anchors the calendar, and it is a solid, low-pressure place to start a morning.
