About kids' events in Ossining
Getting out of the house in Ossining with a toddler usually means a quick trip to a local park or playground, and the public library is a steady anchor for indoor days. The local library branch runs nearly everything on our calendar right now, with about forty upcoming events. You will find storytimes for the 1 to 4 set, movement and sensory classes, and a couple of art and language sessions. The theater listings are on the higher side, so expect some playful performance-based activities. There are also a few dance and music options mixed in. A typical listing might be “Let’s Learn Portuguese!” which gives you a sense of the variety. On weekends, the nearby parks are fine for a stroller walk or letting a kid run around, and the library itself is an easy place to land without planning ahead. Getting around is car-based, though the Bee-Line buses cover local routes and Metro-North runs from Ossining south to Manhattan. Parking near the main streets is generally manageable, and most errands or class trips are a short drive. You can keep your plans loose, because the library’s schedule is reliable and close to home.
