Kids' Events in Flatbush

About kids' events in Flatbush

A big chunk of Brooklyn spreads out south of Prospect Park, and Flatbush sits right in the middle of it. The streets here are a mix of tree-lined blocks with Victorian houses, pre-war apartment buildings, and two-family homes, so there's real outdoor space at the sidewalk level, which makes getting around with a stroller actually manageable day-to-day. The Q, B, 2, and 5 trains all run through the area, so you can get in and out of the neighborhood without a car. For little ones, the Brooklyn Public Library's Flatbush branch on Linden Boulevard has a long history of free storytime and programs for babies and toddlers, and the Clarendon branch on Nostrand Avenue is another solid option in the same area. A handful of neighborhood playgrounds are scattered within a few blocks in most directions. And on weekends, the northern edge of the neighborhood puts you a short walk from Prospect Park, which has multiple playgrounds and water play in warmer months. On the structured-class side, The Sensory Play Studio and Our Baobab are among the local spots running programs here right now, with 53 upcoming events across the calendar.
