A planned community in the east Bronx, Parkchester was built around a central green called the Metropolitan Oval, a landscaped plaza with a fountain where families gather on warmer days. The whole area was designed for walking, so getting around with a stroller is genuinely easy, and the 6 train stops right at the neighborhood's core on Westchester Avenue.
