About this event

Families with children of all ages are invited to join Rose Crisci of Blue Moon Raptors and four of their bird ambassadors to learn about raptors in autumn. Blue Moon Raptors was founded in 2011 with the goal of rehabilitating ill, injured and orphaned birds of prey and returning them to their natural environment. Their educational programs promote the protection of wildlife and our environment for future generations. Registration is required and opens on September 17, 2026. Children entering grades 1-4 enhance their oral reading skills by reading to trained therapy dogs from ROAR Ridgefield. Time slots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring a favorite book to read or pick one out in the library before your session. Registration is required and opens a month prior to the date of the program. Due to the nature of this program and popularity, we cannot accept late arrivals after 11:40 am. At this point your registration will be granted to the next present patron on the waitlist. Ms. May, who is a Chinese teacher at Thistle Waithe Learning Center in South Salem, will lead families in an engaging language program to encourage and promote learning a second language. Registration is required for each session and opens a month prior to the program date. Programs like this are supported by the generous donations of our patrons.
