Join us to celebrate the launch of The Bakery Dragon and the Giant Cookie with author Devin Elle Kurtz! Get a sneak preview of the book, learn about Devin Elle Kurtz's creative process, and ask questions. A book signing will follow. Elm Street Books will be onsite selling books. Preorder books here. We will distribute signing line wristbands to adults at event check-in the day of the event. Please register each person who will attend (adults as well as children). DEVIN ELLE KURTZ is the bestselling creator of The Bakery Dragon. She’s been painting in Photoshop since the age of two, when her artist mom first offered her a tablet pen. Her magical scenes combine fantasy elements with environments that feel visceral and real. She was the lead background painter on the animated show Disenchantment and has contributed to publications such as Beasts of the Four Nations, Escape from Atlantis, How to Heal a Gryphon, and Mother of Sharks. She lives in Pasadena with her dog, Kira, and thirty-three houseplants.

This is a small-group training session to learn how to use the BambuLab P1S 3D printer in the Library's MakerLab. This session is open to ages 8-adult. Please include every person who will be attending when you register. This session will cover: how to design and find projects to print how to set up a print in Bambu Studio including important settings and multi-color prints how to reserve the library's 3D printer for your own projects ideas for future printing During this session we will design and print a 'clicker' fidget as our hands-on example project for how to do the above steps. Depending on the number of people printing at the session, you may need to return to the library to pick up your finished design.

Ready to get creative and bring your imagination to life? Join a few NCHS art students for an engaging, hands-on class! Students will learn how to fold and test their own paper airplanes, exploring how different designs affect speed and distance. They will decorate their airplanes and experiment with a variety of designs. Materials will be provided. These classes are organized by Emily Meng, a high school sophomore and recipient of multiple Scholastic Art Awards, including the CAEA/Arnini Best in Drawing Award, as well as additional honors in national and international competitions. Emily has a strong background in drawing, painting, crafting, and mural work, and she is passionate about sharing creative, hands-on experiences with young students. Join Miss Dajana for a 8-week Twos Storytime series with songs, rhymes, felt-board stories, and special books and activities! This class is for those who are 24-36 months old with a caregiver. This series will be strictly capped at 15 families. Please do your best to attend the complete 8-week session. An alternate Twos Storytime will be offered on Thursday and Friday. Please do not register for this class if you are registered for the Thursday or Friday's class. All participants must be 2 years old by the first class in the series.
