About this event

Join us for an afternoon with the Tony Jefferson Quintet, featuring Tony Jefferson on vocals, Alex Smith on organ, Hamir Atwal on drums, and Jeff Barone on guitar. Free and open to all! No tickets required. First come, first served — and previous concerts in this series have been very popular, so please plan to come early because the space might fill up. This concert is co-sponsored by the Croton Free Library and the Village of Croton-on-Hudson's Arts & Humanities Council. It is part of a Riverview series offered in tribute to the late Manny Albam, a long-time Mount Airy resident, a renowned trombonist, arranger, and director of the BMI Composer's Workshop.

Concert: Charlie Parker Revisited

Croton Free Library · Croton-on-Hudson

Grammy-nominated drummer and movie producer Richard Baratta is bringing Charlie Parker to the Ottinger Room stage! Joined by arranger and pianist Bill O’Connell, Baratta and his Gotham City quintet will revisit Parker’s music with a set of new compositions that combine post-bop drive, Latin grooves, and flashes of rock energy -- without ever obscuring Parker’s original brilliance at the core of the music. They'll play songs from their new album, Another Kind of Bird: Reimagining Charlie Parker, released on Savant Records in May. The album has been on the weekly jazz charts' Top 30 Recordings for 16 consecutive weeks. Free and open to all! This program is appropriate for children. No tickets required. First come, first served. Funded in part by the AFM Musicians Performance Trust Fund.
