About this event

This drop-in storytime for families with children ages 0-5 is in the Children's Room and features songs, rhymes, stories and movement for the whole family! Let’s wiggle, sing and learn together! For children ages 0-5 with their caregiver. *Tickets are not needed for this class.

Come to the Main Library to try pendulum painting! Set your pendulum in motion, watch the paint flow, and create unique, swirling patterns. Every swing makes a surprise design, making this project fun and messy in the best way! For children in grades 2-5. Registration is required. Children attend independently. Parent or caregiver must remain in the Library during the event. Space is limited. Registration opens on Tuesday, October 6. Please note that failure to cancel at least 24 hours before the event or not attending the event at all will result in a limited ability to register for future events.

Explore, play, and grow together! Literacy Play Lab is a hands-on early learning program designed for young children and their caregivers. This event features engaging materials such as books, toys, sensory activities, puzzles, games, and other interactive learning tools that help build early literacy skills. Children will develop language, vocabulary, fine motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional skills while caregivers discover fun, simple ways to support early literacy development in their kiddos. Come play, explore, and build a love of reading! For children 18 months up to 5 years old with their caregiver. Registration is required and is separate for each class each week. Please register each child individually. Space is limited. Registration opens at 8:00 pm on Wednesday the week prior. In order to provide the best learning environment for all participants, we are unable to allow access, regardless of registration, if you arrive 10 minutes after the program starts.

Join us for our Halloween celebration! Come in costume as we gather outside the Main Library (1080 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824) on the parking lot sidewalk to parade around and throughout the Library. We will do some trick or treating along the way so be sure to have a bag with you to collect your goodies! For families with children ages 0-5. Registration is required. Please register each child individually. Space is limited. We cannot guarantee that food served at this program has not come into contact with peanuts, tree nuts, soy or other allergens. Registration opens on Friday, October 9 at 9:00 am.
