The Jersey City Poetry Festival (JCPOFEST) is an interdisciplinary, intergenerational event taking place September 25–27 under this year’s theme “Viva! Joy as Resistance.” This multi-venue celebration fuses poetry with music, dance, visual art, storytelling, and film—bringing generations, disciplines, and communities together to imagine, question, connect, and experience the radical possibility of collective JOY. Showcasing an extraordinary constellation of emerging and critically acclaimed voices, the festival features 5th U.S. Presidential Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco, the Grammy-performing Resistance Revival Chorus, and a panel with poets from Cave Canem (represented by Pulitzer Prize finalist Evie Shockley), Kundiman, and CantoMundo. 91st Annual Members Exhibition The Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) is excited to announce its upcoming 91st Annual Members Exhibition, to be held at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City from September 11–27, 2026 (Fridays and Saturdays, 3:00–7:00 PM; Sundays, 12:00–3:00 PM). The exhibition will feature 200 hand-pulled prints representing a broad range of printmaking techniques and subjects, created by SAGA artists from across the country. Awards will be juried by Leslie Diuguid, founder of Du-Good Press in Brooklyn. The Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) is a nonprofit organization established in 1915 whose mission is to promote contemporary printmakers, cultivate printmaking appreciation and education, and provide a collaborative and inclusive platform for artists across the country. https://sagaprints.com/ Hosting this year’s exhibition is Monira Foundation, an independent nonprofit institution that functions as a radical experimental laboratory, working in close collaboration with artists, curators, musicians, dancers, producers, and writers to conceive, realize, and present innovative projects in all media. Monira is located within Mana Contemporary, a 2-million-square-foot art center. The complex occupies a renovated 100-year-old former tobacco warehouse, featuring expansive exhibition spaces, working artist studios, the International Center of Photography archives, and more. A free public reception and awards ceremony with participating artists will be held on Saturday, September 26, from 3:00–5:00 PM. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments while celebrating the diversity and innovation of contemporary printmaking. Words Beyond Worlds is an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering ESL students through a range of services, including tutoring, conversation practice, cultural exchange activities, mentorship programs, and tailored resources. We create an inclusive environment where all students can flourish, build confidence, and forge meaningful connections. We are currently seeking students ages 5 to 11 who would like support in English. We offer homework help, ESL instruction, personalized reading and writing practice, vocabulary building, grammar support, speaking and conversation practice, and guided activities to strengthen overall communication skills.
