About this event

Saturday mornings are made for cooking together. In this 90-minute, hands-on workshop, children and their grown-ups work side by side throughout the class to prepare a complete Italian recipe from scratch using high-quality ingredients. Together, families will mix, knead, roll, shape, and discover the pleasure of making real food with their own hands. Each recipe is thoughtfully designed so children ages 3 to 7 can participate at their own developmental level, always accompanied and supported by their adult. At the end, families will taste what they have prepared together and bring a generous portion home. A warm and joyful morning of flour and flavor, always guided by curiosity and care. Registration is per pair and includes one child and one parent or caregiver. A second adult is welcome to join for an additional fee.

Piccoli Chef Atelier

108 Montague Floor 2 · Brooklyn Heights

At Le Meraviglie, cooking is more than following a recipe—it is a language children learn through their hands, their senses, and their imagination. In our Piccoli Chef Atelier , each Tuesday becomes a gentle ritual. Children gather in a small, consistent group to explore the kitchen as a place of discovery—mixing, shaping, tasting, and creating together. Rooted in Italian culture , our approach celebrates food as a way of connecting—to ingredients, to tradition, and to one another. Children are introduced to delicious seasonal recipes inspired by Italian cooking, where the focus is on quality, care, and the joy of making something from scratch. Along the way, they naturally absorb elements of Italian language, rhythm, and way of life—where meals are shared, time is savored, and the process matters as much as the result. Each 90-minute session is thoughtfully paced to honor this age: time to observe, to try, to make mistakes, and to try again. Through hands-on experience, children build confidence, independence, and a meaningful relationship with food. What matters most is not just what they make, but how they feel while making it—curious, capable, and part of something shared. We always end around the table, tasting together. A quiet moment of pride, conversation, and belonging. Over the course of the year, this small group becomes a little community —growing not only in skills, but in relationships, rhythm, and trust.

Atelier

67 Atlantic Ave · Brooklyn Heights

Class Experience Designed for young artists approximately 18 months to 3 years old and their parents or caregivers, this process-based atelier is a shared space where art begins with touch, movement, and wonder. At the heart of each gathering is an open-ended art invitation—painting, clay, drawing, collage, or printmaking. Surrounding it, sensory exploration centers invite children to pour and transfer, scoop and sift, fill and empty containers, press and shape soft materials, and discover the textures, scents, and sounds of natural elements. Each center offers a new question: What moves? What changes? What leaves a trace? Children move freely between art-making and sensory exploration, lingering, repeating, wandering, and returning at their own pace. Their curiosity, choices, and individual rhythm shape the experience. Teachers gently introduce each invitation and support the collaboration without directing the outcome. Parents and caregivers explore and create alongside the children, modeling curiosity rather than a “right way” and sharing in the pleasure of discovery. Through this joyful and often wonderfully messy collaboration, children nurture confidence, independence, creativity, and connection. Each gathering closes with everyone coming together for a mindful breath and a gentle song—a quiet moment before carrying the day’s discoveries home.
