Today's storytime will include a special reading of "What Shall We Do, Winnie-the-Pooh?" to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the original publication of A.A. Milne's classic book. Join the Morrisania Children's Librarians for an exciting Winnie-the-Pooh themed scavenger hunt all around the Children's Room! We've hidden some of our favorite characters from the Hundred Acre Woods for you to discover. Grab a clue sheet, search high and low among the shelves, and learn fun facts about everyone's favorite bear! If you can solve all the clues and find every hidden gem, a small prize awaits you at the librarian's desk! Ready, set, explore! Join us in the Children’s Room of the Morrisania Library as we honor a century of adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood. Ever since A.A. Milne’s iconic book was published in 1926, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore have captured the hearts of readers young and old. Now, it’s time to send Pooh Bear some love in return. Children of all ages are invited to drop in and design handmade birthday cards using craft supplies provided by the library. Write a sweet message, draw a pot of "hunny," or share your favorite Pooh quote! Copies of Winnie-the-Pooh, donated by Penguin Random House, will be available to program participants on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration required. Children ages 0-12 and their guardians are welcome.
