YAY! We're so excited for our Millburn @ Taylor Park. A Sound Start Music Class. Ages: 0 mo - 5 yrs + Caregiver 1. Bring a blanket to sit on the grass. You are welcome to bring any instrument you have at home and/or homemade instruments (a jar with beans/rice or a bucket/container with lid for a drum), harmonica, kiddie guitar, shakers, maracas, etc. We also have sanitized instruments to share in class :) * Make Up Policy: If you or your child are not feeling well, please email info@asoundstart.com or text us (917) 399-8770 24 hours BEFORE Class to schedule a make up. Make ups do not roll over to other sessions. Thank you. CLASS DESCRIPTION: This unique class is the perfect beginning of their Music Journey! It encourages our Little Musicians to discover a fun musical world while building confidence, self-control & communications skills. We sing, imitate sounds, use visuals, identify beats & rhythms, dynamics, learn all about different instruments, all while exposed to different generes of music from around the world. It gives them chance to discover their inner musician while learning vocabulary, fine and gross motor skills, timing & spatial awareness. Story time encourages emergent literacy skills; and our live guitar jam always helps end the class in a great high note!

Learn how to make a resin pendant with Miss Julie! Due to the materials being used, children younger than 9 will not be admitted. No exceptions. This class will have 2 groups to give more people the opportunity to make jewelry. If you are in Group A, DO NOT sign up for Group B or vice versa! Your second registration will be deleted.

Fall 1 After School Clay Club | Monday

Betty's Ceramics Club - Studio 1 · Jersey City

Join Betty’s for a super fun-filled semester of after school with one of our experienced teaching artists! This class is for kids ages 5-9 who want to learn how to use clay. Kids will learn how to center and throw on the pottery wheel, how to wedge their clay, basic handbuilding techniques and how to use underglazes and glazes. We use experimentation and risk-taking as learning tools to teach kids in a process-oriented setting. Kids will learn to collaborate with others as they learn how to use the slab roller and extruder to handbuild sculptural forms. All of our lesson plans reference the rich and ancient histroy of ceramics inculture around the world. This class focuses on clay but sometimes we will sprinkle in printmaking, painting and drawing to add variety as our work goes through the firing process. PRICE INCLUDES: Unlimited studio clay, glazes, and slips. Community tools, sponges, bats, ware boards, and buckets BETTY'S IS PROUD TO OFFER FREE SCHOOL PICKUP from Cordero (pick up from CASPER), Hamilton Park Montessori, Scandi School, and The French Academy. To request pickup simply select after school pick up from the add on menu at check out. Please be sure to state what school your child will need picked up from. A staff member will then reach out prior to the beginning of term to confirm pick up. If you require a makeup session for a missed class, we are happy to schedule the student and an adult to join us during a Saturday Family Wheel session. Make ups must take place within the dates of the childs current session. Please contact us at info@bettysceramicsclub.com to coordinate.
