Join Flatbush Library for a special series of family-friendly music classes. Mary Knapp's music class builds foundational rhythm, song and social skills for all ages and stages of early childhood. We'll tell stories, remix favorite songs, learn new international tunes, and move in creative ways. These classes are designed for you the adult as much as they are for your children - for you to feel you are in a safe space where music is neither polished nor dull, but instead spontaneous, multifaceted and fun! We will clap in 7/8 rhythms, sing about the rain in Spanish, dance to Balkan beats and play the accordion. Geared for young children, but all are welcome! Since 2020, Mary has provided family music and storytelling programs in the greater NYC area with her education project and performance ensemble, The Nightingale Fam.
