We will meet at the Hubbard Lodge and gather in the outdoor pavilion to read a story. Then we will walk the Hubbard Lodge Trail which crosses numerous bridges, and meanders along the marshland. This trail is designated as EASY. This hike is open to families with children. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Meet at the Hubbard Lodge - Fahnestock Park - (2920 Route 9 - Cold Spring NY 10516). The hike will be chaperoned by representatives of the Butterfield Library. In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be rescheduled. Registration required to participate.

What history lies in some of the oldest cemeteries in Philipstown? Join Putnam History Museum for a special tour to unearth the stories buried in the Mountain Avenue and Nelsonville Cemeteries. Learn the stories of the deceased, from the first European settlers in Philipstown to the 19th century immigrants who listed their countries of origin in the headstone, Civil War veterans, poets, and more! PHM staff will also dig into the hidden meaning behind the cemetery’s symbolism, and what it says about the person interred. We will meet at the at the Mountain Avenue Cemetery Gate on Craigside Drive behind Haldane Elementary School. This is the Friday, 10/23/26, date, with tour times available at 3:30PM and 5:00PM.
