About this event

Join us for a special time to bond with your little one and meet other caregivers. We will explore the joys of books, songs, and gentle movement in addition to building early learning skills you can practice at home. Come prepared to sit with your child on your lap. Best for children who are pre-walkers and who prefer a gentle, slow-paced program. _______________________ Por favor, tenga en cuenta que nuestra sesión de Baby Lapsit de los lunes por la mañana requerirá que las niñas y niños aún no caminen por sí mismos o que caminen con ayuda. Please register under the child's name. Tickets for walk-ins will be given out at 11 AM at the entrance to the library on the day of the program. Tickets for a waitlist will also be given out. If there are still spots available after 11:20 AM, families will be moved from the waitlist into the story time. The child must be present with their caregiver at the time of check-in. Online registrants must check-in by 11:20 AM at the entrance to the library. If you do not check-in by 11:20 AM, your spot will be given to a family on the waitlist. Online Registration will open one week in advance at 2 PM and will remain open until the 8 spots are filled. If you are unable to attend our Monday Lapsit, please consider attending our Tuesday Lapsit Storytime. If you are having difficulties registering, please call the library at 212-714-8400.

This in-person event takes place at the 53rd Street Library. Shuffle on down on Tuesday afternoons to play classic and new games with friends, family, and library staff! Bring a friend or join on your own — all levels are welcome. Whether rolling dice, solving puzzles, or creating exciting stories together, this program is all about sharing great experiences and making new friends. Board and card games include Chess, Checkers, Connect 4, Dominoes, Sorry!, Candyland, and more! Materials are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not required! Ideal for children ages 6–12, but materials and puzzles can be provided for younger children while supervised by their adult. Caregivers are welcome to stay and play alongside or with their child.
