In Person. Introduce your child to martial arts with our Little Samurais class, designed for children ages 4 to 6. Through playful activities and age-appropriate exercises, children learn basic martial arts movements and calisthenics techniques tailored to their developmental stage. Participants enhance coordination, balance, and motor skills and practice important values such as respect, patience, focus, and self-discipline.
This class takes place in a safe and supportive environment, guided by 4th-degree black belt Mark Tome. Registration also includes a new gi (martial arts uniform for students).

Our Beginner 1 class is for children who are becoming more comfortable in the water and are working towards independent swimming. Water safety is the priority in this class and time is spent on back floats, front floats, and breath control.

In Person. In this ballet class, dancers build upon foundational ballet concepts, enhancing their musicality and technical skills. Students will broaden their ballet vocabulary and learn new choreography, center combinations, and across-the-floor movements.
Taught by wonderful JCC Manhattan instructors in our newly renovated studio, our ballet classes are open to all and foster confidence, coordination, and creativity. It empowers young dancers to express themselves individually while advancing their abilities.

Our Intermediate 1 class builds on our Beginner 2 class with more emphasis on independent swimming and introduction to proper stroke work. Time is spent on arm and leg coordination for both freestyle and backstroke, with a focus on proper kick technique and side breathing.

This class builds on skills learned in our Intermediate 1 class. Mastering the timing for side breathing in freestyle is a main focus, along with an introduction to breaststroke and dolphin kick. Advanced freestyle and backstroke drills are used to produce more efficient swimmers.
Prerequisites: Swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters independently.

Students will: Spark Portfolio Prep – Fall 2026 Tuesdays | 4:30–6:00 PM 8-Week Portfolio Prep Studio Is your child considering applying to one of New York City's specialized art high schools, such as LaGuardia, Art & Design, or Frank Sinatra School of the Arts ? Is your child already showing interest in Advanced level art concepts ? Then this is the class for artists ages 10+ that are showing promise for the arts and our portfolio candidates. Our Spark Portfolio Prep Studio is designed to help students build the artistic foundation and portfolio pieces needed for a competitive application and artistic development. Led by Mr. Casey Gallagher , Spark's Portfolio Teaching Artist and a graduate of The Cooper Union , students will develop strong observational drawing skills, explore a variety of artistic mediums, and create original artwork that reflects both technical ability and creative voice. This 90-minute weekly studio focuses on the core artistic skills that admissions committees are looking for while helping each student grow in confidence and artistic discipline.
