About this event

Let’s gather together to enjoy Autumn in the gardens and orchard. We will record our stories in a journal, build with sticks, stems, rocks and blocks, and exercise our imagination. This is a chance for littles and caregivers to dig into gentle gardening with soil, water, bulbs, roots, or seeds. We always end with gratitude for forest friends and a cup of warm tea. Dress for the weather and bring a snack. Registration required. Ages 18mo-4yr

Come see the Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow! Join staff at the open house for a look inside the lighthouse and to learn about what life was like for the keepers. Drop-in, self-led program. Groups of 8 or more must pre-register. The Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow is located at Kingsland Point Park off Palmer Avenue. Park at Kingsland Point Park. The lighthouse is accessed by a 10 minute stroll south along the Riverwalk path. The five story structure includes four narrow stairways. Note that there are no restrooms in the lighthouse; restrooms are available at Kingsland Point Park.

Scarecrow Making Contest

Scarecrow Making Contest

Join us for our third annual scarecrow-making contest! This is a great chance for families or a group of friends to work together, be creative and have fun! All scarecrows made during this event will be displayed around the farm during our pumpkin-picking weekend. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite scarecrow. The top three scarecrows will receive a Muscoot Farm themed prize. We will supply the hay, bamboo frame, twine and burlap for the head, and you bring everything you need to dress and decorate your scarecrow. This is a great chance to recycle clothing/hats/accessories! You may pick up your scarecrow beginning Monday, October 12. All scarecrows must be picked up by October 26. Pre-registration is required! $10/family (scarecrow). You must register for either a 10:00 a.m. slot or 1:00 p.m. slot. This event is popular and sells out fast! register now

This cooking class is a great opportunity for the whole family to have a joint experience. During the lesson, children ages 3-18 will learn how to cook a dish from start to finish. Younger kids will work on simpler tasks, while older kids and teens will have the opportunity to work independently and acquire some advanced kitchen skills.
