Over that time, the main house has undergone many changes, from its original 14-room building to the current 50-room structure. Join us on the second Sunday of the month for a special architecture tour that explores the many changes to the main house and the architectural styles of the time. As we continue celebrating America’s 250th birthday, join us for an interactive day of history, music, and hands-on fun! Guests can make their own instruments, enjoy games and snacks, try on Colonial clothing, and even play authentic military rhythms on the drums. Learn how drums were used to communicate and keep soldiers in step during the Revolutionary War through an engaging, hands-on presentation led by percussionist and museum educator Justin Vedovelli. It’s a fun and unique way to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary while bringing history to life through music! Recommended for ages 5 through 12. Reservations are required. Space is limited.

Using letters, census records, manumission contracts, and even grave sites in Elizabeth, uncover the stories of Abbe, Belle, Lambert, Henry, Sarah, Peter, and others. Learn about the ongoing research at Liberty Hall and Kean University as we give voice and narrative to the individuals who were once enslaved at this historic home. Reservations encouraged.
