Join us in the Children's Room of the Morrisania Library for our weekly Craft Corner! Join us for a thoughtful session honoring 9/11 through story, discussion, and art. We’ll begin with an age-appropriate intro and open discussion about 9/11, followed by a read-aloud of This Very Tree: A Story of 9/11, Resilience, and Regrowth by Sean Rubin. Afterwards, children will create a Tree Resist Painting using construction paper, tape, paint, and cotton-ball clothespin brushes. As they craft, we’ll talk about resilience, share key takeaways, and discuss what they learned. No registration required.

This event series takes place in person at Woodstock Library. Come unwind and enjoy your afternoon with a kids' movie on the Children's Floor. Did the book do it better? Or did the movie capture the magic just right? Join us for our monthly book and film club where we read a book and then meet to watch its film adaptation. We'll have a brief discussion before and after the screening to compare and contrast the two. This is a perfect program for anyone who loves stories in all their forms. Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk one month prior to the film. September 12: Diary of a Wimpy Kid Sign up for the biweekly NYPL Kids e-newsletter to get information on free children's programs, upcoming author talks, and more happening at the Library and online.
