REV FEST 250 brings the American Revolution to life during Westchester County’s signature event commemorating the nation’s 250th. Through the stories of patriots, loyalists, and those caught in between, the festival offers a deeper understanding of the people, choices, and conflicts that shaped the birth of a nation. Explore authentic Continental and British Army encampments, meet 500 volunteer living historians portraying soldiers and civilians, witness military drills, musket and artillery firing, artisan trades, and hands-on living history that reveals what life was like during the Revolution. Enjoy live entertainment, browse exhibitors, sample local food trucks, and watch both armies assemble and march toward the weekend’s signature attraction—the Reenactment of the Battle of White Plains, a large-scale tactical demonstration. With more than two miles of immersive experiences spanning the scenic grounds of Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, there’s something to discover around every corner. A glowing Glen Island Park is coming to the Westchester waterfront this fall as the Autumn Glow Festival transforms New Rochelle into a brightly lit waterfront wonderland. The limited-time evening event merges traditional Chinese lantern artistry with modern LED displays along the shores of Long Island Sound. Visitors will step into a dazzling escape with hundreds of larger-than-life Chinese lanterns made of modern LED lights combined with traditional hand-crafted lantern frames made from small pieces of Chinese silk cloth and steel wire. Each unique, handmade artisan piece holds a story of its own with depictions of Chinese legends and lore, as well as the beauty of nature. Walk the grounds of William Rockefeller's historic Rockwood Hall foundation with David Teich. Join our Historian David Teich on an adventure into the past as we explore Rockwood Hall and its rich history through stories of the land and the people who called it home. Former estate of William Rockefeller, this site boasts scenic views overlooking the Hudson, lush forests, and remnants of 19th century luxuries. The Rockwood Hall parking lot is on Kendal Way at the west end of route 117, just after the intersection of Phelps and Regeneron. If the lot is full, you may park in the Phelps garage (free). Gather at the kiosk at the top of the hill. Leashed dogs are welcome. Bring water to drink and wear comfortable shoes; expect to walk at least 2 miles. Cost: $4. Maximum: 40 people. PLEASE NOTE: THIS HIKE IS AT ROCKWOOD HALL, DO NOT GO TO THE MAIN PARK ENTRANCE!
