About this event

Join us every Tuesday between September 8 and October 27 on the Museum Commons to enjoy a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with dancing, singing, and stories that incorporate music. For children ages 0-5 and their adult caregiver. Free admission. Registration is NOT required. It is recommended that you arrive early for limited parking and bring a blanket to sit on. In case of inclement weather, storytime will take place inside the Fairfield Museum. Looking for more activities with the little ones? With roots as farmland, Stratfield has seen many changes over Fairfield’s history. The neighborhood of Stratfield boomed in the 1800s due to the industrial might of Bridgeport, transforming into a vibrant suburb of the growing city. Join a special walking tour to explore local sites, trace the area’s development, and discover the different communities who called Stratfield home. Co-presented by the Stratfield Village Association. Registration is required. $15 for Members; $20 for Non-Members. Rain Date: September 13 at 1:30 pm Program Details: This program will meet at Lincoln Park (455 Jackman Ave. in Fairfield) Pre-registration is required—no drop-ins will be allowed. No physical ticket will be mailed. Check in using your name. Tour is approximately 90 minutes long and will start promptly. This program is recommended for adults and kids ages 14 and up. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. We will be standing and walking for extended periods. No refunds will be given unless the program is cancelled by the Fairfield Museum.

Tiny Hands will encourage your child to learn new ways to create while developig a range of new skills. Tiny Hands students will learn many techniques while working with clay. They will have the opportunity to learn how to draw and paint at the easel. Many of the projects in the Tiny Hands curriculum focus on building dexterity and control, such as building a paper sculpture, which will teach students how to tear and cut. Your child will grow as an artist through a carefully guided program that is age-appropriate.
