Take action for our waterways and wildlife during International Coastal Cleanup Day! Help remove trash from our shorelines and protect the natural ecosystems we all enjoy! Please dress accordingly for the weather. Bring a jacket, closed toe hiking shoes, and a water bottle. Litter picking materials (pick sticks, gloves, trash bags, etc.) will be provided. We will meet at the Environmental Education and Resiliency Center in Field 1 of Hempstead Lake State Park. No admission fees for this program. Each person in your party needs a ticket.Reservations are required for all programs. Space is limited. We will be reading some stories about the changing of the seasons, and making our own take home crafts as we celebrate the arrival of Autumn. Class will be held in the Environmental Education and Resiliency Center in Field 1 of Hempstead Lake State Park. $4.00 per child upon arrival at the front desk. An $8.00 parking fee is in effect. Together we’ll uncover how organisms are connected through food webs and how they’re important to our ecosystems! This program is free to attend. Reservations are required for all programs.
