About this event

Join other families with children in Grades 3-6 for a special Reading is a Family Affair book club. Author Gail Carson Levine will join us for pizza, an activity and a book discussion of her most recent book, The Unusuals, a historical mystery novel set in medieval England. Register starting September 14 and stop by the Children’s Services desk for your free family copy of the book to read together before the discussion. Registration is required and opens on September 14, 2026. This program is part of the Library’s 2026 Scholarly Series, Whodunits, Locked Rooms & Amateur Sleuths: Investigating the World of Mysteries, sponsored by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library. Ms. May, who is a Chinese teacher at Thistle Waithe Learning Center in South Salem, will lead families in an engaging language program to encourage and promote learning a second language.
