From tiny seeds to big trees! Explore the natural world around us. These programs will connect children and their parents through short stories, walks, and hands-on activities. Class will be held in the Environmental Education and Resiliency Center in Field 1 of Hempstead Lake State Park. $4 per child upon arrival at the front desk. No vehicle fees in effect. Reservations are required for all programs, each child needs their own ticket. Space is limited. If you are unable to keep your reservation, please cancel so others may have the opportunity to attend. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes early. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze returns to Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson. The gourd-geous event features more than 7,000 hand-carved, illuminated jack o’lanterns arranged in jaw-dropping shapes, including dinosaurs and a carousel. Guests take a self-guided walk through the display and can stop at the Gourd & Goblet Tavern or the Headless Horseman Hideaway for spooky sips and haunting visits from the Horseman himself.
