Weekly after-school class teaching the fundamentals of wheel and handbuilding; projects include story vessels, whistles, figure and animal sculpting, teapots and more. Fall 2026 Semester, 12 weeks, September 14-December 6.
In this mixed-ages, sustainability-focused workshop, kids will learn about using materials already available to us to build something new! Kids will start with taking apart existing structures at the KoKo Lot and old / discarded electronics while thinking about how the disassembled pieces can be repurposed, recombined, and reinvented. Find out how what you uncover through deconstructing can become something totally unexpected and unique! Using the KoKo Lot and our reclaimed/found objects as inspiration, KoKo NYC Teaching Artists help kids imagine possibilities and bring their ideas to life. Pick-up available from PS 10 + PS 295. Pick-up is an optional add-on that applies to the full semester. The cost for pick-up is $153 ($17/session). Kids are picked up by a KoKo NYC Teaching Artist at school dismissal time and escorted to the Lot. Kids have snack and playtime until the workshop begins at 3:30PM. Workshop Dates for Fall 2026: 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20 (9 sessions total) Dismissal Timing: For Fall 2026, we will have staggered dismissal times as sunset gets earlier.
