Winter MCP Afterschool Program 2027 Dates: January 4th – April 2nd, 2027 (52 days) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM or 3:30 pm - 5:30pm (**3:30 pm afterschool does not include pick up, extended care or homework help.) The MCP Afterschool Program is a hands-on enrichment experience where students explore science, engineering, history, culture, food science, and creativity through themed daily learning. Each weekday focuses on a different specialty area designed to build curiosity, problem-solving skills, and real-world connections. Mondays – Materials Around the World (Natural Dayes, Organic materials, and Recycled & Sustainable Materials) Tuesdays – Life Science (Dino Detectives, Explorer Quest, and Life on Other Worlds) Wednesdays – Kitchen Chemistry Food science experiments inspired by global cuisines (Belgium, Morocco, and Greece. Thursdays – Tech & Tools (Physics of Motion & Tetris Engineering, DIY puzzles & Mechanical Problem Solving, and Skateboard Project & Motion Physics) Fridays – Builders & Discovery (Build an Ancient City, Frozen Worlds, and Desert Explorers) Jr. Scientists: K–2nd Grade Jr. Scientists: 3rd–5th Grade Students receive age-appropriate instruction, differentiated worksheets, and advanced project extensions for older learners. Each session includes: MCP-provided snack Water breaks 30 minutes homework help One theme-based project experiment Free play or outdoor time MCP provides a creative, engaging environment where students learn through: Hands-on projects Experiments Collaboration Discovery-based learning across disciplines Due to system limitations, additional material charges cannot be added for Wednesday food science activities. However, in select months, a small additional fee may be requested to support specialized supplies. Full semester payment option includes daily program participation. If you would like pick up and extended care until 5:30 PM, it must be added during checkout. By selecting the full semester payment, you acknowledge that MCP will be closed on all DOE holidays. If your selected days fall on a closure or holiday, no credit or make-up day will be issued. Monthly billing option is designed for added family flexibility provides for program participation with pickup included. By selecting this option, you acknowledge that your child is enrolled through June 28, 2027 unless officially withdrawn. Early cancellation is only permitted under extreme circumstances. Unauthorized cancellation may result in restriction from future MCP program enrollment.You also acknowledge that MCP is closed on DOE holidays and no credits or make-up days will be provided for closures that fall within your selected schedule.If you would like extended care until 5:30 PM, it must be added during checkout. Daily Pricing option allows you to select specific attendance days for your child. All DOE holidays are automatically blocked off. This is the most flexible option for families who prefer to choose attendance on a daily basis.If you would like pick up and extended care until 5:30 PM, it must be added during checkout. Please note: November 5th and March 3rd are early dismissal half-days for students and are included in the program package. Families selecting these dates will automatically be placed in early afterschool pickup adjusted half-day coverage as part of their enrollment option.
