Kids will love meeting an impressive mix of furry, scaly, and feathered friends—including a 10-foot albino python, an eastern indigo snake, a bearded dragon, a tortoise, a blue-tongued skink, a friendly bunny, a deodorized skunk, and majestic birds of prey like owls, hawks, and falcons! Church Nature Preserve—famously known as Shu Swamp—led by Dan Kriesberg, Education Director of the North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary. Using our nature awareness skills, we’ll explore, learn, and connect with Long Island’s natural and human history. Inspired by the season and whatever we discover along the trail, this open-ended experience offers fun and insight for all. Please wear appropriate attire and footwear, this is a relatively simple short hike of 1+ miles, with some short, slight uphill sections, for all levels & ages. This is an off-site event.
