Each month we will focus on a coding concept that we will incorporate into coding our custom games in Scratch. This month will be focusing randomness in coding and developing a Halloween-themed game. After we cover the basics, you will be able to make your game your own through graphic design, character development or adding more complex code. No Scratch experience is necessary. You may log in to your own Scratch account or use a library account for this class. For students in grades 3-5.

NC CARES Fall Community Conversation: Preparing for the Age of AI

New Canaan Library · New Canaan

Conor Grennan, founder and CEO of AI Mindset and former Chief AI Architect at NYU Stern, joins his son Finn, a St. Luke’s student and member of the school’s AI Council. Together, they’ll share their real-world experiences and perspectives on how families can navigate AI thoughtfully, responsibly, and together. During the program, families will learn more about what kids are encountering with AI, how parents can decide when and how AI should be used, and ways parents and children can learn together. Conor and Finn will also explore how parents can help young people use AI responsibly, thoughtfully, and with appropriate guidance. This program is designed for middle and high school parents and their children. It is presented in partnership with New Canaan CARES and New Canaan Library.
