Through age-appropriate singing, dancing, and storytelling, children explore rhythm, movement, and self-expression. With guided activities, games, and simple routines, little ones learn how music and movement work together to tell a story—just like in a real musical. Jazz & Tap Level I is a dynamic and structured program designed for young dancers who are ready to build a solid technical foundation while discovering the excitement and versatility of jazz and tap dance. Through engaging, age-appropriate instruction, students develop coordination, rhythm, musicality, confidence, and performance skills in a focused and encouraging classroom environment. The curriculum introduces the fundamental vocabulary and technique of both jazz and tap. In jazz, students explore proper body alignment, flexibility, strength, locomotor movements, turns, jumps, and expressive performance. In tap, dancers develop rhythmic precision, timing, coordination, weight transfer, and clear articulation of basic tap steps while learning to “play” the music with their feet. Each class follows a progressive structure that combines technical exercises, across-the-floor progressions, rhythm studies, choreography, and creative movement. Students strengthen their listening skills, spatial awareness, memory, and classroom discipline while learning the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and respect for both their teachers and fellow dancers. Instruction emphasizes quality of movement, musical interpretation, and proper technique, helping students develop confidence while encouraging individual artistry and a genuine enjoyment of dance. Students participate in two annual stage performances , providing valuable opportunities to build stage presence, apply classroom training, and experience the excitement of performing before an audience in a professional theater setting. Primary Level Ballet is a structured and engaging introduction to formal ballet education for young dancers who are ready to learn in a focused, encouraging, and inspiring environment. Designed for children who are eager to grow, this program nurtures discipline, confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for the artistry of classical ballet. The curriculum is based on the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum and is thoughtfully inspired by the renowned Vaganova method , combining internationally recognized teaching principles with developmentally appropriate instruction. Students are introduced to the essential elements of ballet, including proper posture, alignment, coordination, musicality, balance, flexibility, turnout, and the five positions of the feet and arms. Each class follows a consistent and progressive structure, incorporating elementary barre exercises, center work, traveling steps, jumps, and expressive movement. As students advance throughout the year, they develop coordination, focus, musical sensitivity, classroom etiquette, and the habits of careful practice, respect, and perseverance. Our goal is to cultivate not only skilled dancers but also confident, thoughtful learners. Every lesson encourages children to work with purpose, celebrate their progress, and express themselves artistically while developing a lifelong appreciation for dance. Instruction is led by an ABT Certified Teacher , ensuring that each student receives exceptional, age-appropriate instruction based on internationally recognized educational standards.
