Age group: 5–8 years old Children must be 5 years old by September to enroll. Primary Level Ballet is a structured and engaging introduction to formal ballet education for young dancers who are ready to learn in a focused, encouraging, and inspiring environment. Designed for children who are eager to grow, this program nurtures discipline, confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for the artistry of classical ballet. The curriculum is based on the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum and is thoughtfully inspired by the renowned Vaganova method , combining internationally recognized teaching principles with developmentally appropriate instruction. Students are introduced to the essential elements of ballet, including proper posture, alignment, coordination, musicality, balance, flexibility, turnout, and the five positions of the feet and arms. Each class follows a consistent and progressive structure, incorporating elementary barre exercises, center work, traveling steps, jumps, and expressive movement. As students advance throughout the year, they develop coordination, focus, musical sensitivity, classroom etiquette, and the habits of careful practice, respect, and perseverance. Our goal is to cultivate not only skilled dancers but also confident, thoughtful learners. Every lesson encourages children to work with purpose, celebrate their progress, and express themselves artistically while developing a lifelong appreciation for dance. Instruction is led by an ABT Certified Teacher , ensuring that each student receives exceptional, age-appropriate instruction based on internationally recognized educational standards. Students participate in two annual stage performances , offering meaningful opportunities to apply their training, develop stage presence, and experience the excitement of performing in a professional theater environment. Primary Level Ballet provides an excellent introduction to formal ballet education and prepares students for continued advancement through our carefully structured ballet program.
