Join author Tess Thomas for a special storytime at the Montclair Public Library! Tess will read her debut picture book, SHIBU'S TAIL, as well as her brand-new sequel, SHIBU'S NEW FRIEND. The books follow the adventures of a cat named Shibu, who has big feelings and an even bigger tail. SHIBU'S TAIL has earned four starred reviews, multiple best-of-year lists, and has been published in over 18 different countries. Following the readings, Tess will answer questions from the audience and lead young readers in a Shibu and Dottie-themed craft. Copies of SHIBU'S TAIL and SHIBU'S NEW FRIEND will be available for purchase and signing following the event. Registration is recommended but not required. Tess Thomas is a writer living in Hoboken, New Jersey. She started her storytelling career at the age of four, when she would dictate tales about her imaginary friends, Sami the cat and Doodie the dog, and send them to her grandparents. Her first book, SHIBU'S TAIL, earned four starred reviews, multiple best-of-year lists, and has been published in over a dozen different languages. Tess’ favorite part of being an author is visiting schools, libraries, and bookstores to connect with young readers. She loves french fries, her kids, and her husband (sometimes in that order).
