About this event

In our Traditional Arts Class, children are introduced to traditional crafts and artistic practices from cultures around the world. Past projects have included weaving, basketry, papermaking, bookbinding, fabric dyeing, jewelry making, metalwork, stone carving, and much more. Students receive personalized, in-depth instruction and have opportunities to work with a wide variety of tools, techniques, and materials. Alongside these hands-on creative experiences, students learn about world cultures, mythology, and traditional customs. This class is designed for sincere and dedicated young artists with a passion for creative processes, traditional craftsmanship, and cultural exploration. Rooted in a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration, our classes cultivate a supportive community where students encourage one another, share ideas, and grow both as artists and as individuals. Classes also include outdoor exploration, where students discover medicinal and edible plants, learn practical survival and nature-awareness skills, and foster a deeper connection with the natural world. Additionally, students are taught traditional comtemplative techniques including visualizations and breathwork. Dates: 12 Classes: Thursdays, Sept 17 - Dec 17, 2026. No class Oct 15 (Gigi traveling) and Nov 26 (Thanksgiving) Pricing : $600 for the season, or families may join at any time during the season for an adjusted price.
