About this event

Prepare for a thrills-and-spooks robotics challenge! In this action-packed Halloween workshop, young engineers and programmers will navigate and program mini robots to escape a haunted monster maze filled with obstacles, creepy turns, and trick-or-treat surprises. Come see the Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow! Join staff at the open house for a look inside the lighthouse and to learn about what life was like for the keepers. Drop-in, self-led program. Groups of 8 or more must pre-register. The Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow is located at Kingsland Point Park off Palmer Avenue. Park at Kingsland Point Park. The lighthouse is accessed by a 10 minute stroll south along the Riverwalk path. The five story structure includes four narrow stairways. Note that there are no restrooms in the lighthouse; restrooms are available at Kingsland Point Park.

Enjoy the sunset over the Hudson River and the Palisades cliffs from our idyllic Rockwood Hall foundation and trails! Take in the sunset at the Rockwood Hall site of Rockefeller State Park Preserve with Park Guardian Melissa. This scenic and beautiful 3-mile hike of the grounds that once were home to William Rockefeller’s country estate offers old-growth trees, abundant birds, and panoramic views of the Hudson River as the sun sets behind the Palisades. The hike is at Rockwood Hall, DO NOT go to the main entrance. The parking lot is on Kendal Way off route 117, just after the intersection of Phelps and Regeneron. If the lot is full, you may park in the Phelps garage (free). Gather at the kiosk at the top of the hill across the street from the parking lot.
