Stitching Stories: Fiber Art & Textile Pictures (Fall 2026)

The Brooklyn Waldorf School · Bedford

In Stitching Stories , students will become fiber art storytellers by creating a mini textile panel that captures a moment from their own imaginative narrative—perfect as a small wall piece or a glimpse into a larger story. The class will begin with a bit of magic: each student will draw a prompt from the Story Hat—featuring curious creatures, faraway places, big feelings, or unexpected twists. From there, they’ll dream up a scene and bring it to life using fabric, layering, and simple hand-stitching techniques. This workshop is all about experimentation, texture, and imagination—there’s no “right” way to tell the story. Students will leave with a unique, handmade piece and a taste of how fiber art can transform ideas into something tangible and expressive.
