Traditional storyboards involve a series of conceptual pencil sketches and drawings to tell a story as a graphic novel or as the foundation of storytelling for movies, TV or animation. The key to storyboarding illustration is the practice and understand how moving productions work and storytelling is excavated along with character development and journey and ultimately your story arc and conclusion. In this course we will study graphic novels, movies, TV series, or commercials, we will take sample scenes and draw them out, exploring composition, flow, angles for characters and pacing. Beginners guide to Clip Studio Paint! (Digital software)
Students will master essential tools (pen pressure, inking, paneling) and apply course art foundations (Line Weight, Color Theory, Composition). The instructor will provide guidance to students. After completion, we will have a gallery walk to showcase projects. Full semester structure flows through 4 stages: learn and master the digital drawing fundamentals of the program Learn professional inking Techniques and start a comic. Apply color theory to tell stories and add mood Synthesize all skills into a final polished piece A copy of Clip Studio Debut will be given to every student who does not have the program. Once the DEBUT license runs out, if your students decide to continue using CSP they can get a 50% discount on their first 3-months or a 30% discount if they commit for a whole year. We can usually give out DEBUT license that are valid for 6 months.

Our course curriculum includes everything a beginner needs to know, from how to choose the right brush and employ color, to how to create dynamic composition through a focus point. This is an excellent class for learning to appreciate the world around you and building observational skills, learning how to express yourself through the medium of painting. In this block printing class, students will learn to design a print, focusing on the use of positive and negative space. After safely practicing carving techniques, they will transfer their designs onto a linoleum plate and carve them out. These designs can then be reproduced on shirts, paper prints, and other materials. Students will be guided through creating prints that reflect their intrests, while learning building their hand eye coordination in carving.

Please check in at the programming room door when you arrive. The storytime room will open 5 minutes before the program begins. If your child is antsy or crying, you are welcome to take a break and return to the program room when your child has calmed down.
