Saturday, September 12th at 10am for children ages 2-7 Young Athletes is for children ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities. This program focuses on inclusive sports play that teaches skills like balance, jumping, kicking, walking/running, trapping/catching, throwing, striking and foundational skills. Our program is led by trained Young Athletes Coaches and Volunteers who want to share the joy of sports and play. All athletes must participate with a parent or legal guardian. For grades K-6 Be paired up with a teen volunteer for one-on-one homework or reading assistance. Please keep in mind that the number of available spaces is dependent on how many volunteers we have in the program. Caregivers can register here to get their child started. The student and volunteer will pick a day and time that works for both of them. Meetings must take place in the Children's Room for one hour every week. This program encourages caregivers to read 1,000 books to their children before they enter Kindergarten. Register here and pick up your reading log at the Children’s Desk. If you have multiple children, please fill out one form per child. Bring your log to the library at each milestone for a small reward: 50 books, 100 books, 200 books, 300 books, 400 books, 500 books, 600 books, 700 books, 800 books, 900 books, and 1,000 books. You may repeat books, include books read at Story Time, etc. There is no beginning or end date for this program. Just read with your child and enjoy! Questions?
