The Friends of the Ridgefield Library invite you to stop by the Friends Sorting Room on the Lower Level of the Library for their monthly Secret Stacks Book Sale, held on the second Saturday of the month. Sorting Room open from 9am to 5pm Items for all ages and interests – fiction, mysteries, trade paperbacks, children’s books and more! Cash or charge accepted (charges over $10) The Friends of the Ridgefield Library accept book donations! Leave your donated books on the cart(s) outside the Friends Sorting Room on the lower level of the Library during regular open hours. Please do not leave donations in the Library Lobby or anywhere outside the building.

Families with children of all ages are invited to join singer, songwriter and indie pop children’s musician, Michele Urban, for an interactive, musical experience! Her original tunes explore themes like making friends, empathy, and inclusion and her music activities are fun for the whole family. Everyone in the community is welcome to sing, dance and experience a wonderful time together. Registration is encouraged and opens on August 12, 2026. Drop-ins are welcome as space permits. Want to improve at Scrabble and take on the best? Join Scrabble Grandmaster and 2-time North American champion Mack Meller for an interactive strategy presentation followed by live gameplay! Mack will share tips for improving your play regardless of skill level, then play everyone in a simultaneous exhibition. All are welcome, from Scrabble newbies to experienced tournament players. Registration is required and opens on August 12, 2026. Waitlisted registrants are invited to attend the opening strategy presentation and watch gameplay as spectators. Students in Grades 3-5 are invited to learn the basics of Tinkercad and an introduction to 3D printing. Each session will introduce a design and then students will have time to free build. Designs will be printed after the program, and you will be emailed with more information regarding when to pick it up from the library. This program is funded by the Lewis Fund and the Friends of the Ridgefield Library. Due to the nature of this program and popularity, we cannot accept late arrivals after 4:35pm. At this point your registration will be granted to the next present patron on the waitlist.
