The YoYo the Panda Bilingual Storytime Series is an original English-Chinese interactive storytime series designed for children aged 1-5 and their older siblings are always welcome. During each YoYo the Panda storytime session, we will follow YoYo on his journey as he goes on a new adventure through picture books, singing songs, moving around and playing with the children. Unlike other programs where Chinese is presented as a formal language class, this program presents language, literacy and culture in a fun, welcoming and developmentally age-appropriate manner. "The Summit Lions Club is celebrating 100 years of service to the Summit Community. In 1925, Helen Keller attended the Lions Clubs International Convention and challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness." Since that time, Lions have been tireless advocates for the blind and visually impaired. The Summit Lions provide youth vision screenings throughout the year and refer them and their parents/guardian to an eye doctor if needed. The screening is simple and quick using the The Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener , a portable, camera-like device used to quickly detect common vision risk factors in patients starting at six months old. It performs a non-invasive binocular test from a distance of three feet to identify potential issues without needing a traditional eye chart.

The program guides parents in building a reading routine at home, shows them how to share books with their children, and supports both parents and school-age kids in learning English vocabulary and library resources. This Spanish language program is a collaboration between the Summit Public Library and Summit Public Schools, with generous support from the Gottesman Fund. Cuentos en Familia* está diseñado para unir a las familias a través del amor por la lectura. Este programa ayuda a los padres a crear una rutina de lectura en casa, les muestra cómo compartir libros con sus hijos y apoya tanto a los padres como a los niños en edad escolar, con el aprendizaje de vocabulario en inglés y los recursos de la biblioteca. Este programa en Español es una colaboración entre la Biblioteca Pública de Summit y las Escuelas Públicas de Summit, con el generoso apoyo del Fondo Gottesman.
