Spring Musical: Willy Wonka Jr.

We're thrilled to present: Willy Wonka Jr. ! This program invites kids to join a professional-style production, experiencing the excitement of rehearsing and performing a beloved classic while staying true to Treasure Trunk’s core values: focusing on the joy of the process, creativity, and teamwork. The semester culminates with a full-scale performance at the beloved Gallery Players Theater in Park Slope. The production team for our musicals is comprised of theatre professionals including a talented directorial team, professional stage manager, costume and lighting designers, and more. Kiddos will receive a fully professional experience, singing, acting, and dancing on an Off Broadway stage in Brooklyn for family, friends, and neighborhood families. In Willy Wonka , children will not only learn the ins and outs of putting on a full show but also the invaluable skills of collaboration, storytelling, and sharing their work with a live audience. Whether they're ready to sing front and center or excited to try something new while bringing scenes to life from the ensemble, there’s a meaningful role for everyone. This is a wonderful opportunity for young actors to build confidence, embrace teamwork, and enjoy the experience of bringing a story to life for family and friends. Auditions: All children enrolled in the production will receive a role! The first week we will learn scenes, songs, and a dance all together as a group as children become familiar with the show. The second week, we will have a supportive audition experience, where children interested in a featured role have the opportunity to audition, and anyone interested in ensemble-only participation will not need to perform solo during the audition process. Starting in week three, we will dive into rehearsing our show and working towards the final performance! * Children must turn 6 by March 1st to enroll * Select one of three rehearsal days (please visit the associated registration page for your desired day/location): - Mondays* 3:30-5:30pm at Atlantic - Wednesdays* 3:30-5:30pm at Atlantic - Sundays 3:30-5:30pm at Park Slope *Monday & Wednesday rehearsals have the option for school pick up from any walkable school with at least two kids participating. Performances will be held between May 27th-31st.

Practically Preschool for 1.5-3 yrs old - Winter/Spring 2026 PS

Our Treasure Trunk Practically Preschool program for 1.5-3 yrs old inspires curiosity, exploration, communication, imagination, and positive social and emotional interactions. At Treasure Trunk Theatre we believe in child-led, creative play based learning. Our program will introduce your child to a classroom setting with a gentle separation process for families and their kiddos. A mixed-age classroom for our early preschool-aged learners provides an array of benefits for both the younger and older students. The younger students build confidence and gain new and exciting language and behavioral skills. Our older students build a strong sense of responsibility and leadership skills in the classroom community. Each day, we will start the morning with open play in our beautiful space with toys and activities that support imaginative play as well as fine and gross motor skills. Children are also invited to work on an art project during this time. We then gather on the rug for circle time with morning hellos to encourage expression, a story and live music. We then wash hands and provide a healthy snack for the children to share. Children then transition back to choice time where they will continue to have self-directed play in our space. A sensory table, play kitchen, library, and age appropriate toys will be available for their discovery. We end our morning with a closing circle time with music and goodbyes. For the first few weeks, grown-ups will join the class as needed until their child feels confident and comfortable being in the classroom without their presence. Our caring teachers offer encouragement and a nurturing environment where the children feel safe and secure within their classroom before the separation. Children at this age are exploding with power to communicate, to move purposefully, to assert their independence and individuality, and to control their important bodily functions. Our nurturing teachers are there to support them in their growth and development and will provide weekly updates for parents. Come explore and play with our Practically Preschool at the Trunk! This session is for children born between April 1, 2023 - Nov 1, 2024.

Musical Art Adventure

Singing, dancing, crafting and more! We invite families to join us in this class for our younger adventurers that combines all of our favorite creative mediums - theatre, music, AND art. In this parent/caregiver accompanied class, children will begin the day with engaging warm-up songs to get their bodies, voices and imaginations ready to soar. Then, we will open our magical treasure trunk to reveal themed prop and costume items that spark an exciting adventure, leading us to our art project of the day. Families will row, row, row our boats into the ocean to make an under the sea creation, or head to Old McDonald’s Farm to get artsy with the animals! This class will not only have your little one singing, dancing and exploring with friends to spark their social emotional learning skills, but they will also leave class with a cute art project. Set your kiddo on the path to expression with Musical Art Adventure!
