About this event

KIN Move is an energetic, developmentally grounded movement program designed to support babies and toddlers as they build strength, coordination, balance, and body awareness through joyful, purposeful play. Each class features a thoughtfully designed environment with soft climbers, tunnels, balance elements, and push toys that encourage rolling, crawling, climbing, walking, and jumping at each child’s own pace. Guided songs and caregiver participation weave in rhythm, language, and social interaction, while cooperative sport games, creative movement activities, and classic parachute games build early teamwork skills and spark pure joy. KIN Move celebrates every milestone—from first rolls to confident running—laying the foundation for lifelong physical literacy, confidence, and a love of movement. KIN MUSIC is the original early childhood music program in NYC — it is a joyful, research-based experience designed for babies and toddlers. Each class blends live guitar and piano, hands-on instrument play, and playful movement to lay a strong foundation in rhythm, melody, and listening. Children explore core musical concepts like beat, pitch, tempo, and dynamics through singing, drumming, and interactive games, while families are immersed in a vibrant mix of genres—from classical and jazz to folk, country, world music, and simple pop. Rooted in early childhood development, Musical Toolbox nurtures language, motor skills, social connection, and creativity, giving families lasting musical “tools” to bring into everyday life.

KIN Pathway 3 - Bridge

Mon, Apr 27 · 9:30 AM

KIN by Perry School

KIN Bridge Overview Dates: April 6 – June 12 Time: 9:30–11:30 AM (2-hour program) Room: Star Room Schedule Options: 2–4 days per week Group & Staffing The group includes 8–10 children with three teachers. A caregiver accompanies the child initially; however, we work on gentle, developmentally appropriate separation throughout the series, always guided by each child's readiness and confidence—often beginning within the room perimeter and gradually expanding outward. Our Approach: The Stewart Method Toddler Bridge is grounded in The Stewart Method, our educational philosophy developed at Perry School over 25 years of hands-on work with children and families. The Stewart Method blends: • Reggio-inspired, child-led inquiry • Intentional structure and rhythm that support independence • Deep respect for the child as a capable learner • Carefully scaffolded social-emotional growth • Learning through movement, music, art, and sensory exploration Children are offered meaningful choices within a thoughtfully prepared environment, allowing curiosity, confidence, and connection to grow naturally. Curriculum & Daily Experience Toddler Bridge includes all core elements of our KIN pathway programming, intentionally woven together through The Stewart Method: • Music • KIN Move (gross motor development, coordination, body awareness) • KIN Studio (process-based art and sensory exploration) • KIN Think (early literacy, early math concepts, and critical thinking) • Social-emotional development • Cooperative play and early classroom routines Children have their own dedicated classroom environment, and teachers actively observe and respond to emerging interests, creating a warm, responsive learning experience that evolves with the group. By the end of Toddler Bridge, children are typically well-prepared to enter a more independent preschool setting with confidence and ease. Enrollment & Availability We are currently close to capacity, with only a few spots remaining.

KIN SPROUT — CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Mon, Apr 27 · 9:45 AM

KIN by Perry School

KIN CREATIVE MOVEMENT is an expressive, developmentally grounded program designed to support toddlers as they explore rhythm, movement, and self-expression through music and imaginative play. Rooted in both early childhood development and the artistry of movement, each class invites children to experience their bodies as a tool for communication, creativity, and connection. Set within our thoughtfully curated Sound/Move Garden, children are guided through a blend of music, dance, and sensory-rich experiences. Flowing scarves, instruments, mirrors, and open space encourage exploration of tempo, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. Through guided songs, storytelling, and creative movement prompts, children begin to interpret music, follow rhythms, and express emotions through their bodies. Caregiver participation supports connection and confidence, while group activities nurture early social awareness and shared joy. Rather than focusing on technique, KIN Creative Movement emphasizes process—allowing each child to move freely, build confidence, and develop their own unique movement language. From first sways to confident, expressive movement, this program lays the foundation for musicality, creativity, and a lifelong connection to the body as a means of expression.

KIN SPROUT — THINK

Mon, Apr 27 · 10:45 AM

KIN by Perry School

KIN THINK is a developmentally grounded cognitive enrichment class that strengthens early language, mathematical intuition, and reasoning skills through playful, hands-on discovery. We emphasize whole-word literacy (focusing on real words in context rather than phonics drills) and build a rich quantitative sense—letting children internalize what “three,” “five,” or “many” feel like before introducing symbols. Through carefully crafted puzzles, block-building structures, interlocking materials, and pattern work, children stretch their critical thinking and spatial reasoning. Our knowledge modules rotate through high-impact domains—2D & 3D shapes, textures & materials, animal classifications, and simple( physical science concepts—to expand vocabulary and conceptual frameworks. Each session interweaves books, songs, and scaffolded challenges in short, focused bursts that align with brain-development research, helping toddlers build neural foundations for deeper thinking and confident verbal expression.
