Spring Science Week & 11-Week Afterschool Program Our Spring Science Week offers a vibrant lineup of themed science days inspired by the energy and renewal of the season. Students will dive into hands-on, project-based learning, creative activities, and STEM exploration—all centered around the buzzing life and fascinating natural phenomena of spring. Following Spring Science Week, our 11-week spring afterschool session continues the momentum with engaging science experiences that spark curiosity and innovation. Throughout the program, students work toward a central science project , building deeper understanding through collaboration, critical thinking, and imaginative discovery—all in a fun, supportive environment designed to nurture young scientists. 🧪🎨 MONDAYS — Mystery Science & Outdoor Explorers Spring Theme: Plants, Dirt, Critters & Creative Habitats Students explore spring biology through nature-inspired art and design projects—using hands-on investigations of soil, sprouting seeds, animal adaptations, and tiny ecosystem helpers as creative inspiration for a dynamic blend of art, science, and discovery. (* includes nature walks + outdoor gardening ) ⚡⚙️ TUESDAYS — Tinker & Engineering Lab Spring Theme: Bright Ideas in Motion! — Circuits, Forces & Inventor Challenges Power up the week with hands-on engineering and physics challenges ! Students explore circuits, conductive materials, simple machines, ramps, and beginner-friendly 3D printing while learning how electricity, motion, forces, and design work together through creative problem-solving. 🍓 WEDNESDAYS — Kozy Kitchen Wednesdays Spring Theme: Tasty Chemistry Creations For our Jr. Top Chefs, dive into the science of kitchen chemistry! With our new on-site oven, learn essential kitchen safety while creating exciting edible chemical reactions. Whip up tasty experiments that are as fun to make as they are to eat! 🧬 THURSDAYS — Biology Meets Chemistry Spring Theme: Cells and Anatomy Chemistry Students explore the science of life—dissecting animals, building colorful cell models, experimenting with nature’s chemistry, and discovering how living things grow and interact with their environment. 🌍 FRIDAYS — Ancient Worlds & Cosmic Wonders Spring Theme: Deserts, Pyramids & Planetary Science Travel through time and space as students explore the mysteries of deserts and ancient civilizations. Unearth the secrets of pyramids and mummification, study the Earth’s geologic processes and layers, and reach for the stars by investigating planets, moons, and the forces that shape our solar system. Hands-on experiments bring both ancient Earth and outer space to life! Daily Schedule: 2:10pm - 3pm : Pick up/Drop off from School 3:00pm - 3:15pm : Snack/Water time/ Refresh 3:15pm - 4:30pm : Theme Project Based Learning 4:30pm - 5:30pm : Homework Help ! 5:30pm - 6pm : Pick up Time/Science Games All rates include daily pick-up service from participating schools (PS.889,PS.217, PS 139, PS 134 & PS 130 (more than 2 students). Pick up from 889 everyday, but limited enrollment of 10 students from 889 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Pick up from 139 is available Monday - Friday. If you are looking to enroll your child in our full Spring Afterschool Program (11-week commitment), please return to our website and select the Semester-Long Afterschool Program instead. If you’re looking for flexible, one-off sessions, you’re in the right place! Our Drop-In Afterschool Program offers engaging, hands-on STEM learning in a fun, creative environment—no long-term commitment required. Welcome to our STEM-centered, project-based afterschool program! Students explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on, guided projects each day.
